The Rink

Q: Is this real ice?

Yes! It’s REAL ICE! Ice-America’s aluminum floor system can quickly adjust to sudden temperature spikes while maintaining real ice even in high outdoor temperatures up to 90°F.

Q: What is the Ice Rink Season?

Our holiday skate sessions run from November 16th thru January 5th. Note: the rink will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day

Q: What are your operating hours?

Open daily, 10 am - 10 pm

Q: Is the rink covered?

Yes, the rink area is covered.

Q: Are there Drinks?

Yes, non-alcoholic beverages are available.

Q: Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are NOT permitted in the rink tent area. Skates are dangerous for little dog paws! Your dogs are welcome in the Winter Village area, however. (service dogs OK)

Q: I’m not skating. Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes. Before entering the rink venue, everyone must sign a waiver. You can sign the waiver here.

Skating FAQs

Q: How much is it to skate?

Tickets are $20 for Adults and $10 for Youth under 12. All tickets include skate rentals!

Q: Are skates included in the admission price?

Yes.

Q: I have my own skates! Can I bring them?

Yes, you’re welcome to! However, bringing your own skates does not qualify you for a discount on the ticket price.

Q: Are advance Tickets REquired?

No. Advance tickets are recommended, but we reserve some tickets for walk-up purchases.

Q: When do walk-up tickets go on sale for each session?

You can purchase walk-up tickets at the counter 30 minutes before the session begins.

Q: Do you have support for first-time skaters?

Yes! Our Bobby the Seal® skating aid is available to help you get started for just $10 per skate session.

Q: what is your smallest skate size?

Child size 8

Q: What is your largest skate size?

Men’s 15.

Q: Can I have a half-size?

Yes, but we only have limited half-sizes available.

Q: Can I go on the ice in my street shoes?

No, street shoes are not permitted.

Q: Do you require helmets?

Helmets are not required, but you are welcome to bring your own. We also have helmets available at no charge!

Q: How old does my child need to be to skate?

The minimum age is 3 years old.

Q: Where can I park?

There is parking right next to the rink: $4 per hour, or $9 for the day.

Q: Do you validate parking?

No.

Q: What if I’m taking transit?

MAX Red and Blue lines stop at Oak& SW 1st Ave, and Tri-Met #15 bus line stops on 2nd and 3rd Ave., just a short walk from the rink.

Or, simply take any of the bus or MAX lines with stops at the Transit Mall on SW 5th and 6th Ave., and you’ll be just a few blocks away.

Q: Where can I eat nearby?

Festive treats will be available for purchase 12-8pm right by the rink, in our Winter Woodsy Village. We also encourage you to dine at the diverse array of restaurants Downtown Portland has to offer!

Q: where can I grab a drink nearby?

You can grab a cozy beverage from 12-8pm in our Winter Woodsy Village. Alcoholic drinks are prohibited at the venue, but you’re welcome to visit any of Downtown Portland’s bars and pubs after your skate session.
